Submissions
Submissions are currently being accepted for future editions of NewFoundSpecFic. Deadline for submissions is July 6th, 2009.
We are mainly looking for undeveloped and aspiring writers who need a stepping stone in the writing world. If you aren't sure if you fall under this category, just ask!

General
You must be 14 years of age or older to submit work to NewFoundSpecFic. If you are 13 years or younger, you may submit work with permission of a parent or guardian.
You must have the right to submit this work for possible publication.
You must be a resident of Canada.
Notification of acceptance or rejection will not be given until after the submission closing date.
Accepted literary pieces will be paid $0.01/word, for up to 4500 words. For peices longer than 4500 authors will be paid a flat fee of $45. All accepted authors will also be given a copy of the edition their work has been published in.
Short Stories
While all stories will be considered, there are a few guidelines that will make it more likely that your work will be given our full attention.
Keep in mind that these are short stories.
No foul language. Fake cursing (using made up words) is fine, but if you can’t say it on TV, please don’t submit a story to us using it.
If you’re writing a serial (a series of short stories which follow each other), please submit the entire set of stories. Please ensure that each of the sections can stand alone as its own story. Payment for serials will depend on the length of each section, and the total number of sections.
Non-fiction
Sometimes the truth really is stranger than fiction. Well written articles about cutting edge or strange science may be considered for publication.
Poetry
Must have a speculative fiction theme, and lend itself to printed text.
Art
We aren’t actively seeking artists, but feel free to send us some samples of your work. Cover designs, and black and white work suitable for inside printing are closest to what we might be looking for.
Format
Short stories, poetry and non-fiction
For electronic text submissions we ask that all files be saved as RTF format. If your work requires specific formatting which cannot be accommodated by RTF format please contact us. If you submit work with a different extension without first contacting us it will be rejected automatically. For both electronic and snail-mail submissions, enteries must be formated using standard manuscript guidlines.
- Double spaced with paragraphs indented
- Left justification
- At the top of the first page include: name, address, telephone number, word count, and story title
- At the top of each additional page include: name, story title, and page number
- For scene breaks use a centered ###
- Do not send originals.
- If you require notification of receipt, include a self addressed, stamped postcard
- Entries are to be mailed flat
Art
If you are submitting art to us electronically please contact us prior to sending any large files. Please only send files in JPG or PNG format if possible.
Please do not send originals as we cannot return any work we receive.

We generally purchase first North American rights. If you wish to submit a previously published story contact us before submitting. In either case we require 6 month exclusive rights from the time of publication.
